Deed Scam

Do not fall for this scam! Please contact your local clerks office or appraisal district for more information.

1.    Deeds are filed in the County Clerk’s office and are Public Record.  Once the Deed is filled there are no cost involved unless you want a copy and its $1.00 per page.  Most Deeds are 2-3 pages so the cost would be $2-$3.

2.    The “Property Assessment” they claim they are doing for $86 that includes a copy of their Deed and is the same information property owners receive from the Appraisal District for free.
